Anne Whitfield
My Writing
I am a story teller.
I'm an author of sweeping historicals, romantic
contemporary novels and emotional short stories.
My stories are set in England and Australia.
My First Historical Novel
I started to write my first novel, Dreams Of Yesterday, in 1997.
The main character, Anna Thornton, came into my head and
demanded to be heard.
My husband bought me my first computer and I began to put down
her story. I finished it two long years later, but still did touch ups on
it until 2005.
2006 - This novel has now been re-edited and given a new title.
Her Shadowed Heart is available now!
My Second Historical Novel

My second novel, Kitty McKenzie, was completed at the end of
2001.
Again, the main character, Kitty, came into my head and her story
needed to be told. She is the lone provider for her family and the
course of her life takes her from the deaths of her parents and the
loss of her comfortable home to the poor tenements of Victorian
York. read how she deals with the trials sent her way.

My Third Historical Novel

Kitty McKenzie's Land continues the story of Kitty and her family
and the struggles she has to overcome with the hardships she
faces in a new country.
Does she manage to keep her family together?
Does she find true happiness and contentment?

Both books published by Samhain publishing.
My Fourth Historical Novel

My Fourth completed novel is Gossamer Wings. Again my love of
Victorian Yorkshire sets the scene for this book. My character,
Grace faces hardship within her homelife and her heart.
As the eldest of seven daughters, she finds that keeping her sisters
safe from a tyrannical father and the outside world is not as easy as
she wished and, at times, it is easier to let them learn their own
mistakes.

My Sixth Historical Novel

This novel titled A Noble Place, is wholly set in Australia 1850s. I
enjoy researching this era of my country.
My character, Phillippa Noble is a strong woman, as many of them
were in those difficult times, and I hope she comes across as
someone a reader can love and admire.

Published by Robert Hale Ltd UK.
My Fifth Historical Novel

This novel is titled, The Gentle Wind's Caress It's set in 1876, in
the areas of Halifax and Heptonstall, West Yorkshire, England.
It's about a young woman, Isabelle and her fight to secure a stable
home for her brother and herself, but the man she marries, and the
marriage itself, is not what she expects. In her unhappiness he falls
for her husband's landlord, and life becomes a whole lot
complicated.
Published by Robert Hale in UK.
In this difficult industry, I am very proud to say others have found joy
and entertainment in my stories.
Editors of publishing companies have seen something in me that is
marketable, something worth taking a chance on. I thank them.
Readers, either friends, family or complete strangers have sent me
letters saying how they've enjoyed my stories. They too, I thank.
My First Contemporary novel

Long Distance Love, my first contemporary novel, set in Whitby
UK and Camden, Australia.
I thoroughly enjoyed writing this modern story and found it a
pleasing change from my historicals.
Fleur was a wonderful character  to write and get to know, and
Patrick is a to-die-for hero.
