I was born a small town in N.S.W. Australia, to English parents, Ken and Betty. I am
the youngest of five children, before me came Janet, Margaret, Linda and Michael.

As a child I loved reading and listening to music, my favourite being ABBA, though I
grew up liking a great variety of music.
My brother Michael and I listened to all types of music, mainly driving in his car with
the stereo blasting. One minute we would have country singer, Kenny Rogers on, then
the next it would be rock, like AC-DC or Meatloaf.
That variety of music stays with me and my cd collection is of a wide range in type.

I grew up with my sisters and brother getting married and having their babies. Our
house was always full of family and friends.

My courage and belief in myself was tested when my parents went back to England to
own and operate a family business. It was a trying time for all of us. The business
failed and we were homesick for Australia, but we survived, just! We came home
again three years later.

As I look back, those three years in England were a backhanded blessing, for I met
my dearest friend, Samantha and found my love of history there. It was also in
England that I read my first Catherine Cookson novel, Tilly Trotter - I was hooked on
historical fiction!

In England, one is surrounded by history and as a lover of it, I was in my element!
My Uncle Peter took my mother and I to a great many places. We visited old castles
and museums. We walked around huge manor homes of the wealthy and I would
pretend that I was back in Victorian times walking around in beautiful crinolines. One
of my greatest pastimes was strolling around graveyards centuries old.
It started my love of Yorkshire.

I have a wide variety of interests.
I enjoy reading and gardening.
I am interested in geneology, I love Chocolate. (who doesn't?)
I love cooking, horse riding when I can and surfing the web and emailing friends.
I adore talking on the phone! (you should see my phone bills!)

I now live in one of my favourite places in the world, the Southern Highlands of New
South Wales.

Spending time with my family is important and satisfying.
And most of all I love seeing my children being happy and healthy.
Thank you.
